Week 5 A CLIL Lesson based on a video and my Reflections
Learning about Architecture in English
I have always been fascinated by cathedrals. I discovered the first Gothic cathedrals when I visited England, Germany and also France.
I was a teenager and I had just read the book " In the Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco.
In Italy we have a great cathedral, the one in Milan. But I have visited many other interesting places worth learning about.
This CLIL lesson is a lesson on English architecture, on some important buildings which you can visit in London.
I used some videos which I found online and which could be used in a CLIL lesson which involves English and also History of Art teachers.
It is about a country , England , and how the city of London changed with its main buildings. It is about the English Gothic and a famous building in London which was the masterpiece of the architect Sir Christopher Wren.
You will find my reflections on this lesson plan and on what we could do in class.
I have designed some more activities dealing with this issue. I would like my learners to work online and be engaged while learning.
They should use English, be able to do tasks online and also collaborate in English.
The tool which I have used for introducing the issue is EDPUZZLE, it is a versatile tool which I have already used and which I really like.
